Big Woody`s BBQ in Saint Charles

Great food but get there early in the day because they often sell out.

This is the best barbecue in the mid west by far. The brisket was perfect not overcooked not under cooked cooked just perfectly with love. I fiancé who is a vegan decided not to be vegan this day because it is so tasty, the onion rings are perfect and the sides are great. Great place for lunch dinner anytime. They’re open on Sunday and I would highly suggest a visit anytime you’re by Saint Charles. Staff is fantastic and and help you find what you need and are very friendly.

The food and service was great. Portions were good size without being excessive. We will definitely be back and often!

We just had the brisket, porksteak, sweet potato fries, mac n cheese, BBQ beans, and green beans. Everything was amazing! Some of the best brisket I've had and definitely the best porksteak ever.

Better than sugarfire in my opinion. Staff was very friendly, and the food made my belly happy. The cuts were good, the portions weren't stingy, and fair prices to boot. 10/10 will go back and refer friends.

1st time customers. Had the Hillbilly Philly and Apple Jack sandwiches. AWESOME! Can't wait to have again. Definitely recommend!

Delicious! Hard to find an actual good BBQ place and my wife and I loved it!

Good food. Large portions especially the sides. We were a party of four and everyone got something different. There were no complaints. We are not up this way too often but we would eat here again. 👍👍

Quaint little place. I drove 25 miles to get here. I'd have driven 100. The real star is the pork steak. A monster. Bring appetite. No knife needed. These guys take out all the big shot fancy places whom forget what bbq is with a menu full of burgers. I am tough to please and seldom give 5 stars. I will try the other choices next time...

I had the half rack ribs, fried okra and the bacon mac & cheese. The food was AMAZING! The meat slid off the bone. So tender and flavorful!!! Okra was excellent. Crunchy and NOT SLIMY! Prices are decent too!

This is our favorite local BBQ! I always get the pulled pork so I can tell you that it is awesome! I like the apple jack sauce too. Staff is always nice and the owner is a 3 Stooges fan so there's some cool nostalgia to look at.

This is a hidden gem in the bbq game in the area. Big woodys is fantastic, hands down some of the best BBQ I've ever had. Its a little small and they have some wacky menu items but don't let that scare you away. Make sure you try the 2 lb pork steak, you won't be disappointed.

This is easily the best barbecue restaurant I have ever been to.I'm really picky about my food. A good track of ribs should be moist and tender. They should fall off the bone easily. They should be messy too. Big Woody's is all of this and more. I've tried the pulled pork, the ribs, the brisket, the bacon mac & cheese, the baked beans... I've got to tell you, I haven't had a disappointing meal there yet.If you're sick and tired of the dry ribs that you get at other restaurants, then take a step up to the best barbecue in St. Charles. Go to Big Woody's.

All I can say is AMAZING! I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich and mac and cheese for my side item, and it was outstanding. The chicken was moist and seasoned to perfection, and the mac and cheese was cheesy, creamy and delicious. The restaurant is small, very clean and pleasant. The customer service is impeccable. They bring your food right to you. I will definitely be back to Woody's BBQ.

GREAT local BBQ!! Really fun decorations. The brisket is so TENDER (sorry for shouting, but it was that good). Girl behind the counter was fun; she made suggestions with a huge smile telling us, "That's my favorite". I only spotted one BBQ sauce, but it was good. The coleslaw was very different (in a good way); it had a very slight sweet flavor as they added tiny bits of Mandarin oranges.The Bourbon Apples are to die for!!! 🍎🍎☺️☺️

First time here after driving by for years and hearing great things. Ordered the singlewide sampler Platter which was exactly what I was in the mood for. It came out pretty quick and worth every penny. Lasted me 3 meals! And so delicious! The staff was wonderful, they answered questions and checked on us during our meal and seemed they really cared we enjoyed our visit. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Excellent family run BBQ joint! The sides were amazing. Very good quality BBQ too! I came in for lunch and was not disappointed. I had the sampler platter- single wide. It was really big and really great value. The prices are really good for all the items. Overall this place is a mix of the old school BBQ joints from a bygone era. Really wish I had more time to try more items.

Terrible customer service. My husband walked in and was ignored by everyone who worked there. The girl behind the counter finished with customer in front of him, then blatantly ignored my husband, put on gloves and went in back. Didn't speak once. No one did. He walked out. Never again.

All I can say is WOW !!! Food is awesome

I stopped in for lunch today, and this was my first visit. I bought the regular sized beef brisket sandwich with fries. The sandwich was a perfect portion, but you can opt for a larger size. The fries were piping hot, and had a nice seasoning added. I sampled all 3 BBQ sauces, and each one was quite good. I will return when in the area again.

BRING CASH ONLY! Two different banks flagged them and blocked them when I tried to get lunch here with debit cards. Showed them the email to let them know they are being flagged as fraud. The customer behind me even told me this happened to them at Woody's too. Wow. One of my banks called 30 min later and cautioned me to not use a card there again, they felt it pretty suspicious for a business to be getting flagged. Smelt delicious but having to get on the phone to unlock my cards to get lunch from somewhere else seemed to lower my rating by a lot.

I don't know how it took me so long to try this place! I have developed an addiction to their pulled chicken sandwich...best I have ever had. Make sure to try the Apple-Jack sauce. Always friendly. Always delicious.Update - 10/2018Never ever disappointed here. They were offering Mac N Cheese with Bacon as a side on my last visit so I had to try it. Once again, a winner.

The pulled pork cubana, beyond description good! Can't wait for the next installment of trying all of the menu.. creatively named items on the menu.

I love this place. Great BBQ, but what really stands out is their prices. Can't beat what appears to be a pound of pulled pork on a sandwich for 6 bucks. Comes on large buttered and toasted sliced bread. Just the sandwich is a great lunch that beats the hell out of fast food, for fast food prices, at fast food speed.

Great little family-owned/operated BBQ joint. It's small, but everything is delicious! I always get the brisket, and it just falls apart because it's so tender. Highly recommend!

Favorite BBQ in the area. My go to spot when people come from out of town and I want to impress them with local food.Also, pregnant wife loved the sides. She couldn't get enough of them.

For our visit Saturday at 6:30 pm they were out of every meat but pulled-pork. Half the sides were out too. So, we had the pork...and fries and chips. The pork was good, I'll have to say. Good, smokey, flavor. At 6:45 the music was cut off, the family at the table behind us left, leaving us as the sole remaining customers. We weren't verbally asked to leave but the hint was obvious. The door was locked behind us at 7:00 pm. The sign on the door advertised open until 8:00. It may be a good sign that they sell out. On the other hand, this experience does not lead me to want to return.

Great BBQ, only one flavor of sauce but it's works well. Best BBQ in St Louis and St Charles. Small place but big on flavor.

This was a really nice surprise! It’s a hole in the wall. In the good sense. I really enjoyed the kitsch decor. It was cozy and fun. The food surprisingly lived up to the hype! When we arrived around 5:30pm on a Saturday evening they were out of brisket. The girl at the register was very sweet and polite. She suggested the “Apple Jack” sandwich. It comes on a bun, but I asked for it on the Texas toast for an upcharge. The bottom toast got soggy, but I flipped it so the toasty one would support the bottom. It was delicious! I expected the apples to be on the side, but they were in the sandwich. They were tender, but had enough of a bite to add texture. I really liked the explosion of flavors! My husband had the “Three men in a boat” minus the brisket. My daughter had the pork sandwich kids’ meal. The hog balls were worth trying, but the amount of flavor to fat won’t have me asking for seconds. The menu is clever and the portions are generous. Big Woody’s BBQ was certainly worth a visit!

Wow. Excellent BBQ! You can tell the owner and the staff put a lot of love and attention into this place. My son loves the half rack of ribs. His comment to me was that these were the best ribs he's ever had in his entire life. I like to get the pulled pork sandwich myself which is also insanely good.

This place is a gem. I ate lunch here today and can say my expectations where exceeded. The staff friendly, patient and suggestive. The prices are affordable. The food tasted amazing and unique. I will be back!

Was really excited about this place by the reviews. The smoker outside smelled amazing! I was seriously let down by the meats though. I got the Singlewide Platter that featured all 3 meats (chicken, pork and brisket). They were unfortunately out of Hog Balls and quickly ran out of slaw. The meats were VERY salty in my opinion. The smoke was great and the sauce was tasty, but the overwhelming saltiness kinda ruined it for me.

The owners here are outstanding and the food melts off of the bone and their sides are amazing. I have eaten here numerous times and they never let me down.

I have never been disappointed here. Great small place, with knockout BBQ, friendly atmosphere, and good service. I finally got to eat one of their legendary pork steaks, and I must admit that it was the best I'd ever eaten. It was huge, and it came with two full sized sides/ bread, and it was as tender as their ribs(truly something to behold). I ate half of what must be nearly two pounds and took the other half home with most of my sides virtually untouched. I was full and then some as I had to wait hours to even write this review. This is as good as you can get in this area out west of Stl metro area.

This place have the best ribs I have ever had. I first went in with a toothache and a taste for a rib and the man said 'Mam, you don't need teeth to eat our Rib's. He did NOT lie. They melt in your mouth. As a senior , my teeth ain't what they used to be. Thank goodness for this place. Sauce is excellent too.
